Dr. Velazquez

Dr. Velazquez has been practicing medicine for over thirty years. He attended . His speciality is Anesthesiology. From 1994-2009, he served as the Head of anesthesiology at Hospital Fray Junipero Serra.

Dr. Velazquez obtained his undergraduate degree from Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara in 1977. He completed his internship between 1977-1979 and his residency between 1980-1981.

Dr. Velazquez trained in his specialty, pediatric anesthesiology, at the Mexico’s prestigious National Institute of Pediatrics located in Guadalajara from 1982-1985.

Thereafter he served as the head of OR surgeries at the government hospital, Issste in Tijuana for 16 years. Dr. Velazquez is a committee chair kidney transplant institute. He is certified by the anesthesiology Association of Mexico.

Dr. Velazquez is a proud member of the College of Doctors in Rosarito. Dr. Velazquez has 4 years of experience overseeing and supervising Ibogaine treatments in a complete clinical environment. This amounts to more than 300 treatments.

Jose Cerda

Jose is a founder and co-owner of Baja Ibogaine, he is also the Director of Nursing and a registered nurse.

Jose earned his degree in Nursing from the Universidad Xochicalco where he studied for four years. After graduating with distinction, Jose performed one year of service at the general hospital in Tijuana. Jose then worked at the Tijuana General Hospital for 7 years as a trauma nurse. Becoming the head nurse in the emergency room from 2007-2011.

He was named employee of the year in 2010. Jose started work with Ibogaine in 2012. Between 2009 and 2014, Jose volunteered at a skilled nursing facility assisting geriatric patients. Between 2014 and 2016 Jose worked as a hospice nurse, facilitating pain management, during which time continued working with Ibogaine.

In November 2014 Jose became a full time Ibogaine entrepreneur. Over the course of his involvement he has provided Ibogaine treatment to more than 1000 patients. Jose was born in Mexico city and grew up in Rosarito.

Jose has undergone Ibogaine therapy himself for psycho-spiritual reasons.


Eric Freeburg

Eric is a founder and co-owner of Baja Ibogaine. He is also the Director of Operations.

Eric grew up in CT just outside of New York City. He graduated from the University of CT with a bachelors degree in Political Science. He worked in the financial services industry for ten years before moving to Rosarito to help build Baja Ibogaine into the most professional provider of safe Ibogaine treatment in the world.

His passion for psychedelics was sparked by a recreational encounter with psilocybin (magic mushrooms) in his early twenties. Eric believes that the numinous experience can change lives. He has witnessed it in himself and seen that transformation in others.
